What is The Metaphysical Center of New Jersey?

The Metaphysical Center of New Jersey, a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the teachings and pursuit of esoteric studies, was founded by Donald H. Yott. The MCNJ began its program of classes and lectures in 1956. In addition hosting monthly lectures, discussion goups and special events, the Center also teaches at several adult schools in the Northern New Jersey area.

What is Parapsychology?

Parapsychology is a branch of psychology that involves the study of consciousness, extra sensory perception, the powers of the mind, and psychic phenomena. It is concerned with scientific research into areas that lie beyond the realm of orthodox psychology, but are necessary to a broader and deeper understanding of human nature.

The Metaphysical Center of New Jersey has a special interest in the modern research findings of parapsychology, psychology, physics, biology, archeology, and other fields, which corroborate the ancient mystery teachings; we include them in our courses.

What is Metaphysics?

Metaphysics is the study of esoteric teachings concerning cosmic laws, the nature of reality, the purpose and meaning of life, our relationship to the universe and spiritual evolution. "Meta" means "beyond," and metaphysics deals with that which lies beyond the physical. It includes the physical, for cosmic laws are true on all levels, but goes beyond the physical to encompass all planes of existence.

"Esoteric" means "hidden" or "inner," for these ancient teachings have been hidden or secret for many ages, taught only to selected initiates who have proven their readiness to receive them. Now that we are in the dawn of a new age, marked by a general expansion of consciousness, the teachings are being given openly to all who are interested. According to an ancient esoteric truth, "When the student is ready, the teacher appears."

Metaphysics has two branches, the esoteric philosophy and the study of psychic phenomena. Both are covered in the 13 level course of study of the Metaphysical Center of New Jersey.
